Collection: Tiaras

In medieval Europe, tiaras were worn by brides and royalty, and the tradition of wearing head ornaments was highly valued:
Brides: Brides of all ranks wore crown-shaped jewels, or coronals, as part of their wedding attire. Wealthy brides also included a jeweled coronal or garland in their dowry.
Royalty: European princesses and queens wore crowns, and royalty wore pinnacled coronets and rings of leaves, plants, and flowers.
Noble ladies: Noble ladies wore coronets or mini-crowns as part of their formal dress.
The tradition of wearing tiaras began in the Greek and Roman empires, when high-ranking men and women wore headpieces to symbolize their status. The tiaras as we know them today became more widely worn in the 18th century.
